BLACKCAT....Closure

The diorama was completed by wrapping the black plastic corrugated base with baking foil. The foil was first slightly crumpled to simulate gentle waves. Squashed tissue paper was placed underneath areas of the foil to give support to raised simulated waves.
The shape of the Black Cat 's hull was marked and cut out. The entire foil covered base was then airbrushed with Gunze intermediate blue and clear blue. The silver base will give a good reflective shine as shown on the picture.
The Black Cat was then secured onto the base with white glue. Once fixed, more white glue was used to simulate the water splashes on the sides of the Black Cat. Using a tooth pick, the white glue was teased into shape when it was semi dry.
Since the Academy kit did not come with crew, I added two 1/72 scale flight crew from an old Hasegawa kit. The entire Black Cat project cost me only SGD 27. This is to show modeling can be fun without costing an arm or leg. Enjoy.
