AHOY THERE!...ARMIE'S SHIP DAY

Check out the contrasting designs of the WWII IJN aircraft carrier SHINANO and the American aircraft carrier SARATOGA.

While the SAF had its AIRFORCE open day, ARMIE had a SHIP day. TO THE QUESTION ..DO WE SUPPORT SHIPS?? YES!! WE DO!!

The 1/700 SHINANO has an exposed lower deck where one can place the model planes on it ... to give it that busy look.

The 1/700 SARATOGA is given an interesting camouflage by William. More to come

WIP....Hasegawa 1/72 F-4E Phantom II

A chilling sight for any modeler....GAPS & STEPS.
Common in most early molded kits...yes even Hasegawa. One method to eliminate those gaps is by using Altico A+B epoxy putty. Mix equal amounts of resin and hardener then roll into thin stings or beads. Apply into and over the gaps. Use talcum powder to keep the mixture from sticking to your fingers. Use a brush dipped in water to smoothen the surface of the putty if necessary. Once completely dried, it can be sanded down to size.

WIP ....Mark's Fujimi 1/72 US Navy Phantom F-4B

The main F-4B configuration is up. The individual components of the canopy is masked. Next would be the dreaded task of seam line removal especially on both side of the intake structure.
More to come....

WIP....... KP's Tamiya 1/350 Prince Of Wales

After a long absence from the hobby, Kp decided to take the plunge on Tamiya's 1/350 Prince Of Wales British battleship. Fantastic achievements on his model. The superstructure is almost completed. Don't it look impressive even at this WIP stage? Imagine what the real POW looked like up close before its fateful encounter with the Japanese Betty bombers off the east coast of Malaya.
