Rules & Regulations
1) Eligibility
a) There is a fee of $5 per entry for this competition.
b) Each model must be accompanied with an entry form.
c) Model must be built, painted and finished by the person on the entry form.
d) Entries submitted from past competition will be rejected.
e) There are 3 categories of completed aircraft models being contested, and they are:
(i) Materclass categories – for all previous model competition winners, and professional modelers (people paid to build models, whether on commission or salaried basis).
(ii) Senior category – for modelers age 17 and above, but excludes those in above as at 18th June 2009, but excludes those in (i) above.
(iii) Junior category – for modelers age 16 and below as at 18th June 2009.
f) All entries must be delivered between 12 noon to 8pm from 18th to 19th June 2009 to the Aerospace Hub reception area at Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
g) No further entries will be entertained after 8pm on 19th June 2009.
h) Entries will be on display for public viewing from 2pm onwards from 18th to 20th June 2009. Prize presentation at 2.00pm on Saturday 20th June 2009. All entries must be collected from after prizes are presented.
i) Organisers will not be liable for any loss or damage to any models that occur during the whole period of the event.
j) Entrants must collect back their prize entries immediately after the prize presentation.
k) All models which are not collected back within the stipulated period will be disposed of at the sole discretion of the organizers.
l) It is hereby agreed that participants agree that their names, their models, and photographs of themselves and / or their models may be used in advertising and promotion activities conducted by the organizers.
m) ALL JUDGES’ DECISIONS ARE FINAL.
2) Workshops on model building
a) The will be half day workshops at on the Thursday, 18th June 2009 and Friday, 19th June 2009 for people interested in model building. The cost is $15 per person, and will include entry to the competition.
3) Contest
a) Entries will be handled by judges and officials both for proper table placement and for judging as required.
b) Entries will be judged based on overall appeal, construction, finish, creativity, and realism.
4) Prize Presentation
a) The prize presentation ceremony will be held at 2.00pm on Saturday, 20th June 2009 at the Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
b) In each category, there will be a 1st, 2nd, 3rd prize, and 12 commendations.
c) The will be a “Best Airfix” entry award.
d) A prize for the “Most Creative” entry will be awarded.

2nd prize – trophy, gifts, and $100 Hobby Bounties (Katong) voucher
3rd prize – trophy, gifts, and $50 Hobby Bounties (Katong) voucher
4th – 15th commendations, with gifts
